Albert Einstein is the author of that much quoted statement and although he had physics in mind, I see countless other applications.

Entrepreneurs should recognize this as a law of business ownership.  Nothing happens until something moves and that “something” starts with us.

Many a good person has set up a website and mistakenly bought into the idea of “if you build it, they will come” and then wondered why nothing happened. The movement doesn’t start with our customers, it starts with us.

Advertising and marketing are activities.  Unless we actively advertise our business and actively market our product, nothing will happen.  Unfortunately, few entrepreneurs take the time to learn how to properly and effectively market their business and doom their business to failure.

If your business seems stalled, if your sales are flat, or if you can’t seem to get your business off the ground, take a serious look at what you are doing to actively promote your business.  Then get online and discover a wealth of information on ways you can actively advertise your business, often at little or no cost.
