That’s just one of the questions Jeffrey Gitomer asks in his book “Little Black Book of Connections: 6.5 Assets for Networking Your Way to Rich Relationships.”

In his usual humorous style, Gitomer explores the “how to’s” of networking and connecting with people.  “To climb the ladder of success, you don’t need more techniques and strategies, you need more friends,” says Gitomer.

Regardless of whether you still use a paper version of the black book, or you’ve moved up to the PDA, laptop or cellphone to track your connections, you know your most important people are in there.

But, is it just a database or is it really a success tool?

 Gitomer’s book is a great lesson on how to earn the respect of powerful mentors; how to build stronger relationships with bosses, co-workers, customers, friends and family; how to connect with powerful people; and how to maximize your connections so they benefit from you and vice versa.
